Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending. – Maria Robinson

I worry that something has gone seriously wrong with the way we run companies. If you read the media coverage of our company, or of the technology industry in general, it’s always about the competition. The stories are written as if they are covering a sporting event. But it’s hard to find actual examples of really amazing things that happened solely due to competition. How exciting is it to come to work if the best you can do is trounce some other company that does roughly the same thing? That’s why most companies decay slowly over time. They tend to do approximately what they did before, with a few minor changes. It’s natural for people to want to work on things that they know aren’t going to fail. But incremental improvement is guaranteed to be obsolete over time. Especially in technology, where you know there’s going to be non-incremental change. – Larry Page

Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change. – Jim Rohn

They must often change, who would be constant in happiness or wisdom. – Confucius

Success in Living the Life of Your Dreams

Success in Living the Life of Your Dreams

Congratulations!  The fact that you are reading this means you have already made a giant leap toward success in living the life of your dreams!  Believe it or not, it is an achievement to even recognize you might need a change.  So many of us go through life day after day eating the same breakfast, driving the same commute to the same boring job, returning home to the same dinner and watching the same TV until bedtime.  Then we do this over and over not even noticing the treadmill to nowhere we’re running on.  One day (today for you), you actually spend a moment of reflection and wonder why you are no better off than you were five years ago.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. – author unknown

That’s right!  Beginning today, your insanity is cured!  In this blog, I will show you how to be certain the next 5 years will be significantly better than the last 5 and how you really can live the life of your dreams.  It is time to awaken, time for old dogs to learn new tricks, and time for leopards to change their spots!

The great thing in the world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving. – Oliver Wendell Holmes

Success for each of us individually is overcoming the obstacles that are in the way of living our dreams.  When I hear my co-workers saying they are “living the dream”, it is always said with sarcasm.  They have not awakened to the fact that it doesn’t have to be that way.  All they have to do is take a turn in a new direction to be able to say “living the dream” with enthusiasm and truth.  They are in the position they are in because they choose to be in that position.  There are an infinite number of other choices they could make instead.  Choose whether you will live or complain/blame/mope/whine/cope.

Now you must make a choice yourself.  Do you want today to be better than tomorrow? Will you choose to go on reading this blog and dive deeper into the fundamentals of success?  I hope your answer to all of these is a resounding “YES!”
